Introduction
My name is Yan Huang. I'm a backend and infrastructure engineer with a strong bottom-up understanding of computer systems. My experience spans multiple layers of the stack, from hardware emulator, operating system, Linux driver, and high-performance computation, to high level distributed system and cloud infrastructure.
I enjoy working on complex systems where correctness, reliability and scalability matter, and where thoughtful trade-offs across abstraction layers are required. I place a strong emphasis on engineering fundamentals, system design, and long-term maintainability.
I'm a lifelong learner with broad technical curiosity, and I value continuous growth both technically and personally. Outside of engineering, I have pursued advanced training and experience in demanding outdoor and extreme sports, including technical cave diving, freediving, snowboard freeriding, skydiving and wingsuiting. I tend to approach these pursuits the same way I approach engineering work - through careful preparation, respect for failure modes, and a focus on operating safely and sustainably.
